Following on from a superb event last year, SSRC crews headed west again to take part in Rame’s Regatta. This fabulous location attracts clubs from across the gig-rowing spectrum including the finest and fastest. All crews in their respective races performed admirably with the Men's squads securing respectable positions out of 20 competing clubs. For Jim Irvine, this was his first 'real’ racing event as a Coxswain - a challenge he embraced and performed brilliantly. The Ladies crews produced a fine set of results with the A’s securing 6th place, the B’s, 3rd and the Cs's, 3rd and the Vets, 4th. It was great to have Lizzie and Kara back in the boats and to celebrate some terrific rowing from our youngest racing squad member, Laura. Everyone had a fabulous party afterwards and returned to sunny Swanage with proud smiles on their faces. Big thanks go to everyone who helped make the weekend happen including Rob and Kathryn for towing, the Coxswains and Rame G.C for hosting. And thank you, GigPix for allowing is to feature some of your photos - please like and follow the Facebook page.
