Two club crews braved strong tides and confused waters to complete the annual Round Hayling Island race on 19th June. 19 crews in a variety of skiffs, skerries, Celtic longboats, Solent galleys and Cornish pilot gigs took part with Old Harry the third fastest gig at 2hrs 26mins and Winspit the sixth at 2hrs 35 mins.

Swanage went to Weymouth Gig Club's regatta on the 28th May and enjoyed a good days rowing with calm seas and good weather turning to bright sunshine in the afternoon. Rather than rowing on the other side of the Nothe fort as previously this regatta was held on the main beach near the Pavilion Theatre which made for easier launching and quicker starts.
